Best 10 Casio G-Shock Watches to Own in 2023

by Kairo February 3, 2023 0 Comment 13 min read

Why Should You Buy A G-Shock? Casio G-Shock watches are widely regarded as the toughest watches in the world, and each G-Shock model is designed to withstand extreme abuse that would break and render most other watches useless. G-Shock watches have raised bezels that protect them well from shocks. They can also be used for any activity in any environment because they can resist water up to 200 meters deep.

A G-quartz Shock’s movement is highly accurate, and some models include automatic time-syncing features that ensure precise accuracy on a daily basis. The stopwatch and timer are basic features that are useful in everyday life. For certain outdoor activities, more advanced features are available. G-Shock watches are generally maintenance-free and can be relied on to perform as intended.

G-Shock watches are not only extremely durable and practical, but they also have a fashionably rugged style that no other brand can match. G-Shock has grown into a popular streetwear brand that makes useful tool watches as well as a wide range of unique timepieces.

1. G-Shock GBD-200 Step Tracking

The GBD-200 has advanced fitness features, such as a step counter with daily logs, training functions (to measure and record distance, pace, and calories burned), and interval timers. Despite being one of the more advanced G-Shock watches (with more features than the GBA-900), the GBD-200 is also one of the more affordable. The small square case and octagonal bezel are based on the classic square G-Shock, and the high-contrast MIP LCD display makes it easy to read even for people who don’t run. There is a front light button for the auto LED backlight, and this is one of the few G-Shock models with a vibration alert setting.

2. Casio G-Shock GA2100

One of G-Shock’s most successful new series is the GA-2100. The design is based on the bezel and band of the original G-octagonal Shock, but it has a round analog-digital display instead. The watch is called “CasiOak” because the bezel looks like the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. However, Casio’s original plan for the watch was to make an analog-digital version of the DW-5600. It has a carbon fiber-reinforced interior case and is 45.4 mm wide and 11.8 mm thick, fitting into the trend of smaller and slimmer G-Shock watches. The minimalist, blackout GA-2100-1A1 was an instant hit, resulting in a year-long worldwide shortage.

3. G-Shock G-SQUAD GBA-900 Fitness

The GBA-900 is G-Latest Shock’s affordable fitness model from its popular G-SQUAD line, and it includes a self-calibrating step counter that will adjust itself when used with a GPS-equipped smartphone for more accurate offline use. The stopwatch now includes an auto-lap feature that records the time it takes to cover a specific distance. The watch also has a new 5-level graph that shows how hard you work out and a daily goal attainment rate display. The battery life is about two years, and there is a low battery warning.

4. G-Shock GG-B100-1A3 Mudmaster Sensor

The GG-B100 Mudmaster adds to the popular GG-1000 series by adding a pressure sensor (altimeter and barometer) and step counter to the compass and thermometer. It also has a front light button, a carbon fiber bezel, and a carbon fiber reinforced case. The mission log function records the altitude and GPS location, and the location indicator shows the distance and direction to a current location point using the LCD display and the watch’s second hand. This is useful for getting back to a previous location. Other Bluetooth features include a calorie calculator, automatic time adjustment, and a phone finder function. The GG-B100 is also distinct in that the order of the watch’s main menu can be changed.

5. G-Shock GA-900 Analog-Digital

The GA-900 has a battery life of about 7 years, which is longer than any other non-solar G-Shock with an analog display. The design is inspired by industrial and construction equipment, and the yellow accents on this GA-900-1A make me think of the Caterpillar company. It resembles a mini-Mudmaster with its decagonal bezel, prominent front screws, and bumpers. There is also a front LED light button, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a 60-minute countdown timer, and 5 alarms on the watch.

6. G-Shock DW-5600E-1V Classic

If you’re looking for a “beater” watch for weekends and recreation, the DW-5600E-1V is an excellent choice. The DW-5600E-1V is based on the original “square” G-Shock case from 1983 and includes standard features like a 1/100-second stopwatch, 24-hour countdown timer, multi-function alarm, and EL backlight with afterglow. There are a few limitations to this basic model, including the lack of world time and the inability to turn off the button sound.

7. G-Shock G-STEEL GST-B400

The GST-B400AD-1A4 is the best choice for a more formal-looking G-Shock that can be worn anywhere but is still in the mid-range in terms of price. The GST-B400 series watches are among the slimmest G-STEEL models available. (The new GST-B500 is thinner, but it has not yet been fully released in the United States.) The GST-B400 is also solar-powered, so it doesn’t need any maintenance, and a Bluetooth-connected smartphone can be used to set the time automatically. Even though Bluetooth connectivity improves functionality and adds new features (like an expanded 300-city world time, a time and place log, reminder alerts, and a phone finder), it is not required. The watch can be set up and used without Bluetooth.

8. G-Shock DW-9052-1V Digital Military

The DW-9052-1V is known as the “standard issue” G-Shock and is commonly seen on military personnel all over the world. It is one of the least expensive G-Shock watches on the market, but it is just as durable as more expensive models. The DW-9052-1V has an extra-rugged case design with button guards and a front EL backlight button that is easily accessible. For those who require excellent visibility in the dark, the EL backlight illuminates the entire LCD display with a blue-green hue. This entry-level model also includes a stopwatch, countdown timer, and daily alarm.

9. G-Shock MTG-B3000

The MTG-B3000 is a high-end watch that strikes the perfect balance between G-Shock toughness and modern styling. It has high-end features like a sapphire crystal, Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6 automatic radio time syncing, Bluetooth smartphone link, and Triple G resistance, which protects against shock, centrifugal force, and heavy vibration. With a thickness of only 12.1 millimeters, the MTG-B3000 is one of the thinnest G-Shock watches. In comparison, the thinnest current G-Shock watches for men (GA-2100 and GM-2100) have a thickness of 11.8 millimeters. With its rugged yet refined style, the MTG-B3000 can fulfill many roles. The all-black MTG-B3000B-1A has a soft urethane band, and the other two green and red-accented models have a stainless steel composite band with a resin inside layer that makes the watch lighter and more comfortable to wear.

10. G-Shock GA-700-1B Extra-Large Analog

The GA-700 Series was the first affordable analog-digital G-Shock watch with an LED light button on the front. It came out at the end of 2016. The battery life of about 5 years, which is one of the longest for a non-solar analog G-Shock, is another feature that stands out. It also has a dedicated one-press button to start the stopwatch in timekeeping mode and a target time alert. The GA-700 has a large, rugged case (53.4 millimeters wide) combined with a 3D dial and large analog hands. The face also includes an LCD display for features like date display, world time, stopwatch, countdown timer, 5 daily alarms with 1 snooze alarm, and 12/24-hour format. The basic black GA-700-1B is a best-seller, and other popular military-inspired colors are available in the Utility Color Series seen above.
